And that’s the end of that story. Thanks for reading! We’ll start something new and less maudlin come Thursday.

Pretty much the number one biggest ingredient in all of these comics is doubt. Every single panel I’m sweating it out over whether it’s okay enough. And it’s just never okay enough.

Sorry for the delay, cats. We’re creeping up on the end of this story.

desperately trying not to make a Jaws joke

I am just going to have all of the rest of my comics be nothing but ocean scenes because it is the easiest thing for me to be a lazy artist about.

A day late but here we are. It’s a hard life for pretty Japanese white foxes.

or you could imagine the fox in panel 3 delivering one of those monologues from the film Pi

There we go, a whole page of cute foxes. That’s good, right? You guys are into that kind of thing, yeah?

I don't know how you can possibly expect me to have something clever to say under these images all the time
If you thought we were going to go, like, more than a page without some kind of small cute furry animal, I’m sorry I worried you, dear reader.

this is my own tiny rebellion against the gag-a-day format. if you trusted your webcomics to make you smile, I am the man who betrays that trust.

Here is an important milestone for The Dawn Chapel: a whole page without a single cute furry animal in it. Is this the beginning of an unsettling trend? Will I go on to alienate the scant few readers I’ve managed to attract in the first place? Is there any point in reading for the next six or seven pages of this story, knowing I’ve given away the ending in the very first panel? What could possibly happen next?

(I’ll tell you what’s going to happen next. After an eight page story without any words at all, you get eight pages of depressing monologue, you lucky kids.)
