All better! If you really really liked this story, I went ahead and put the original artwork for all six pages up for sale in the store.

There may not be a comic this upcoming week owing to preparations for the Midwest Furfest, though I will do my best to complete it early because I kind of want to have this next comic ready to enter the original in the MFF art show. (I will be entering The Derp Cycle’s original in the art show as well, so you’ve got a week to grab it before I take it out of the store to take it to Chicago.) Storenvy recently added the guest checkout option, so you no longer have to register as a Storenvy user before you can buy things from their stores anymore. Which is pretty cool!

Anyway. I’ve never been to Chicago before! I hear they have good pizza there? I don’t know, I never had a problem with California’s pizza, to be honest. Is there anything else I should look for while I’m there to get the full Chicago experience? Protips appreciated!

Story ends next week!

I don’t have too much in the way of newsworthy stuff to talk about. The venerated webcomics news blog Fleen dropped a link this way after I fired off an email about the webcomics market on Storenvy, which was awfully nice of him. And it’s cool to see more comics taking advantage of the Storenvy community. (It is also cool to see so much Dawn Chapel stuff on the best-sellers list, though that’ll probably change as higher-profile webcomics start to show up. Even so, thanks guys! If you’ve boughten stuff from me and you like it, I’d be grateful if you take a moment to “like” it, as well!)

Another thing I’ve been digging hugely since being introduced to it is the podcast My Brother, My Brother and Me. I listen to it a lot while I am drawing. I wish it was longer than 45 minutes so that I could listen to more of it.

But that is pretty much all I have got to report. Why don’t you tell me how you doin’?

Did you guys know that The Dawn Chapel is now officially a year old? Everybody have a party and wreck stuff!

oh no the cake is a lion

The otter tags that I had in the store sold out about a week ago; I went and had some new tags with no less than five different designs made up this week, and they should be available before the end of the day Monday, I just got to take pictures of them and put them up for sale. I suggest you frantically refresh the page until they appear.

That is a gross infection. I kind of goofed on the blocking in the last two panels, dude has his coat on in one panel and then it’s magically off in the next, when he was supposed to have it off in both of them. Oops!

A few weeks back at the Further Confusion barbecue some people expressed interest in the Bad Fursuiters tee I and another person were wearing; I had them made a few years back for dealers’ room sales and they didn’t really do very well at the table. I was surprised to see that I wasn’t the only person wearing one at the event, actually!

But I got out the last two I have and put them up in the store. If there’s much interest in them I might have another run made up.

I have also been plugging away at commissions the last few weeks and have been working diligently on stuff for the MFF artshow. Above are a few examples!

I’m grateful for the Assassins Creed games reintroducing the plague doctor into the cultural lexicon, so that hopefully some of you will know what’s going on with that mask without having to click the google link. (Our sick hooded gentleman doesn’t have the plague, nor is he afflicted with the boobly; but you’ll have to keep reading for the next few weeks to find out what he does have.

So, time for a new story! I actually made this one up myself this time, how about that! I’m kind of fooling around with a limited-palette experiment with this story, I hope that you will allow me this indulgence.

Some cool stuff happening in Dawn Chapel news lately; we’ve been getting so much airplay that it may be necessary to just go ahead and post a blog roundup. The comic’s been crossposted to Makeuseof, How-To Geek, 9gag (twice!), Onipepper, and GoNintendo; and it’s been featured by KQED, Fuel Your Illustration, and by our good friends at Storenvy. I am over the moon, to be sure.

Also cool: a while ago, the Firefox comic got scanlated, which I think is an important milestone in our still-brief history. I was so thrilled by this that I decided immediately that if there was a t-shirt to be made, it needed to have the English dialogue replaced by Dekubar’s Japanese translation, so I copied the kanji as faithfully as I could and made a t-shirt available for sale on Redbubble.

The Redbubble preview is kind of gross-looking, though, and I figured that it might not be representative of what the finished product actually looks like, so I went ahead and ordered one so that I could photograph it for your benefit. And it came in! So here you are:

It is pretty classy! And it’s printed on super-soft ringspun American Apparel, so it is pretty dang comfortable. I can’t think of a single social situation where this shirt would not be appropriate to wear. And, again, if you would like to get yourself one, you can order it here!
